Delete Your BidCheck Account
Last updated: 28 September 2026
You can delete your BidCheck account and its data at any time — in the BidCheck app on iPhone, iPad or Android, or by emailing us if you no longer have the app. This page explains both ways, what is deleted, what is kept, and for how long.
1. Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open BidCheck and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
This works the same on iPhone, iPad and Android. Your account is deleted immediately and this cannot be undone.
2. Delete without the app
Email support@bidcheck.co with the subject “Delete my BidCheck account”, sent from the email address on your BidCheck account — the address of the Apple ID or Google account you sign in with. Because an email’s sender can be forged, we never delete on the request alone: we write back to the email address held on your account, and delete only once you confirm from that inbox.
- If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, write from the Apple ID address that relay forwards to and tell us you used Sign in with Apple; we will confirm the account is yours before deleting it.
- After you confirm, we delete the account within 7 days of your request and email you when it is done. It is the same deletion the in-app button performs.
3. What is deleted
Everything stored against your account is permanently removed from the live service at the moment of deletion, including:
- Your account: name, email, Apple and Google sign-in identities, profile (base, crew category, seniority, staff number, Qantas email, WhatsApp number), settings, sessions, and push-notification tokens.
- Bidding: bid briefs, bid sheets and their edit history, optimisation history and credits, and the subscription records we hold.
- Rosters: every roster you forwarded and everything derived from it — your in-app calendar, your calendar-feed link (it stops working), and your Flightmates entries.
- Sharing: buddy links, roster-forwarding recipients and send log, co-parent shares and notes (their links stop working), and your special-meal profile and catering log.
- Swaps: your trip swap proposals, swap board listings and interests, and the base and leave swap postings and offers you created.
- Open Time: your parsed board, alert history and watches.
- Google Calendar: if you connected it, we also delete the “BidCheck Roster” calendar from your Google account and revoke BidCheck’s access.
- Qantas verification records.
4. What is kept, and why
- Anonymised award records: the pattern, week and seniority number from awarded rosters stay in our aggregate pattern-competitiveness data, with the link to you removed (see our Privacy Policy, section 4).
- The shared Open Time board for your base and crew category stays for other pilots. It holds nothing about you — your bid markers were removed before it was shared, and the record that you contributed it is cleared.
- Other pilots’ swap history: base and leave swap postings created by another pilot that you accepted or acted on stay in their history, with the link to you removed.
- Problem reports you sent from the app (Report an Issue) stay in our issue tracker. Ask in your deletion email and we will delete them too.
- Aggregate counts (for example, how many pilots used a feature on a given day) contain no personal information and are kept.
5. Copies outside the live service
- Backups: our database is backed up once a day to access-controlled storage, on our server and off-site. Backups are used only to recover the service after a failure — never to restore or look up an individual account. We keep the 30 most recent daily backups, so your data is gone from those within about 30 days of deletion. The first backup of each month is also kept in a disaster-recovery archive for 12 months and then deleted automatically, so your data is gone from every backup within about 12 months of deletion.
- Server access logs, which include IP addresses, are deleted after 7 days.
- Android crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) contain technical details only and are deleted by Google after 90 days.
- Emails already sent on your behalf — catering requests, forwarded rosters, co-parent PDFs — stay in their recipients’ inboxes, and our email provider keeps its delivery logs under its own retention policy.
- Apple and Google keep their own records of your sign-ins and purchases; manage those with them directly.
